Young whiskies are fresh, direct, and often surprisingly intense. In this age category, grain and distillery notes are clearly prominent; depending on the style, smoke, pepper, or citrusy freshness come through particularly distinctly. Ideal if you want to experience whisky "unpolished" or are specifically looking for a strong character.
